Six Months of Content. Two Days. $10,000. Hosted at Kit Studios in Beautiful Boise, Idaho
This isn’t a workshop or a mastermind. We won’t spend time lecturing you on how to build a brand or create content. We won’t leave you with homework you’ll never complete or a dream you’ll never realize. The foundry is something different. Give us two days of your time and we’ll give you a polished personal brand and six months of content.
This is for people who are experts in their industry, but may not have had time to create content yet. For founders and leaders who have credibility and something to say. Don’t worry if you aren’t experienced making content. Our expert creators and interviewers will guide you through the process.
A Collaboration Between Kit CEO Nathan Barry and Me, Barrett Brooks
Nathan Barry is the CEO of Kit, a bootstrapped software company that makes sustainable growth tools for creators. It’s one of the oldest “creator economy” startups and one of the most beloved.
Me? I’m the former COO at ConvertKit (now Kit) turned executive coach and host of a popular business and leadership podcast. We’ve been friends for over a decade, we were business partners for five years, and now we’re back at it with Personal Brand Foundry.
This is our way of delivering on one of the most powerful and life-altering changes we’ve seen after working with tens of thousands of creators: building a personal brand.
What to Expect from Personal Brand Foundry
Here’s how it works:
- Receive journaling prompts from us in advance to get you thinking about your expertise and to give our interviewers a head start.
- Record a 60-minute interview telling your story, highlighting your expertise, sharing why you got into business, and more.
- Go through hands-on-workshops where you’ll work with other attendees to package your expertise, find your unique perspective, speak in soundbites for clips, naturally read from a teleprompter, and more.
- Get the perfect prompts to turn your perspective into short-form clips.
- Learn how to post, promote, and share your content on social media to get the best engagement, as well as get the systems to manage it long-term.
You’ll walk away with:
- 26 short form video clips to post on social media
- Podcast interview (long-form) that tells your full story and showcases your expertise
- Professional headshots
- Written bio for your social media pages
- Website and newsletter hosted on Kit
- Welcome email sequence
- Bonuses (optional):
- Hiring video (2-3 minute cut from podcast interview)
- Founding story video (3-5 minute cut from podcast interview)
If you post one video per week for 26 weeks that gives you half a year. The best creators don’t just post their content once, they repeat it so you can get a full year of content from a two day investment.
And as a final bonus, you’ll meet and grow with a small group of other creators at a similar stage in your journeys.

The schedule
Before the event
You’ll complete a short worksheet giving us background on you for the interview and to get you thinking about what you want to share in your content.
You’ll want to arrive the evening before the event. We’ll host a dinner for everyone who is in town by 6pm.
Day one
Day one starts at 8am sharp with:
- Group workshop on how to find your voice and what to share. Including details on how to be a great interview guest.
- Breakouts to workshop ideas with a small group
- Then you’ll rotate through four stations:
- 1) Recording your hour long podcast interview
- 2) Practice speaking on camera, reading from a teleprompter, and selecting your editing style
- 3) Working with our expert to create your website and newsletter on Kit
- 4) Headshot, b-roll, and additional photos
We’ll host a casual dinner where you can decompress, share takeaways, and learn from other attendees’ experiences. Then we encourage you to get to bed early since we have a big day of filming the next day.
Day two
Day two also starts at 8am and has an emphasis on short-form video.
- Group workshop on refining your ideas for clips (we’ll have flagged plenty of ideas from the day before)
- Roundtable discussions to refine your perspective on certain topics (we’ll group people who have thoughts on hiring, audience growth, etc)
- Then you’ll rotate through four stations:
- 1) Recording short-form clips
- 2) Finalize and approve your website and newsletter
- 3) Work with our writer on your welcome sequence and bio
- 4) Another round of clip recording
We’ll wrap up by showing you our system for tracking and scheduling content to stay consistent long-term. Then a final dinner and we conclude the event. You’re welcome to come to fly home in the morning or come back to the studio the next day to record more content on your own.
