Working with an executive coach is one of the fastest and most effective ways to accelerate your growth and reach your potential as a founder or leader.
Before a business reaches a certain scale, affording an exceptional coach for 1:1 work can be financially challenging and sometimes irresponsible for the business. This leaves a gap between what founders and leaders in early stage companies need and what they can or should afford.
Group coaching is an opportunity to bridge the gap between leading in the challenging early stages of a company and receiving 1:1 help as the company scales. It also has the added benefit of peer advice in addition to traditional coaching questions and development.
Aside from my 1:1 coaching work, I run two coaching groups at a time for early stage founders and execs.
Group Make Up
Everyone in my groups are 1) key decision makers 2) at mission-driven organizations and most are 3) using business to tackle hard societal problems. Some are venture-backed, some are self-funding, and in rare instances some are not-for-profit. All are driven to reach their potential, earn healthy financial rewards from their work, and do good.
Each group consists of 4-6 leaders with no more than six in each group. I do my best to match stage and type of business, but I find that stage is more important than industry, funding mechanism, or product category.
Coaching Format
My groups meet twice per month at a set time and place (phone or Zoom). We meet for 75 minutes.
Each group session includes a round robin check-in and three 20-minute hot seat sessions where a single founder or exec is the focal point of the conversation. Each member is guaranteed to get at least one hot seat per month.
Based on the group’s preference, I will also maintain and moderate a single real-time communication channel for the group to stay connected. This could be SMS, WhatsApp, Signal, Slack, or any other mechanism as chosen by group vote.
Cost
The cost to participate in group coaching is $750 per month. This is a substantial discount as compared to 1:1 coaching and also includes more total coaching time than my 1:1 work. It has the added value of peer support and advice.
The first group will launch in July 2023 following the celebration of Independence Day in the US.
