In The Art of Non-Conformity, Chris Guillebeau tells a story about a man who approached him at an event.
The man introduced himself, told Chris about a project/trip/business he wanted to start sometime, and then thanked Chris for being an inspiration to him and his dreams.
Sometime down the road, Chris saw the man at another event. The man asked if Chris remembered him and gave an update about that project/trip/business he wanted to start… sometime.
Chris saw the man once more at an event. And, perhaps no surprise to Chris, he heard the same story again.
Someday is a dangerous concept. Someday might never come. And even if it does, it won’t do the risky, scary, important work for you.
“The best way to find out if you can do it is to do it.” – Chris Guillebeau

Thanks to Chris Guillebeau for the inspiration for today’s post. I read The Art of Non-Conformity in 2010, at a time when I needed to read the words on the page and it has changed my path significantly for the better.
