The concept of living for the weekend has always been a tragedy to me. We tell ourselves to grin and bear it throughout the work week. Tolerate the work. Watch tv to pass the time. Wait for the weekend to arrive.

The alternative is to find and do interesting work that matters you. What would your life look like if you were living for Monday rather than living for the weekend?

What would have to change for that to be true? Are you willing to take a risk to make it happen?

As my friend Grant Spanier puts it, “If Monday means work and you absolutely dread it, maybe you should reconsider what you’re doing.”
